The first award that a new American Heritage Girl earns is called the Joining Award. This award will acquaint you with what it means to be an American Heritage Girl. The Joining Award is Only earned once!
Girls are required to complete all requirements below, in ANY order. Additional resources are posted below as well.
Once requirements are completed, meet with a Unit Leader who will sign your book and submit on Troop Track so we can order your new badge!

The History of Troop SC1412: Troop SC1412 was started by Amy Weaver along with several other women at the Church of the Cross in the Fall of 2012. Since 2012, our troop has served more than 240 Girls. Our troop numbers come from 1 Timothy 14:12 - Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

OPTIONAL LAPBOOK ACTIVITY
'Joining Award' Lapbook PDF (instructions and printables)
To make this fun and educational there is an optional lapbook activity designed to assist in completing the requirements of this award. Depending on your age, you may need some help from a troop leader or parent. Below is the info on the lap-book instructions, which includes an example and all the printables. It doesn't have to look exactly like the example - you are free to be creative!
When the lapbook is complete, please review the 'Joining Award' requirements (see below) and have your parent or leader initial what has been completed. (These requirements are in the Girl Handbook as well) Your Unit Leader will then confirm you have completed the requirements, and submit on Troop Track so we can order your new badge!
Please note that you must memorize the 'Pledge of Allegiance' as one of the requirements for the 'Joining Award' but it is not on the lapbook. So if you want to write it out somewhere on the lapbook that would be helpful. We've also included a link below to a 'Pledge of Allegiance' printable that you can use if you would rather use that instead.
